The Australian High Commission in Fiji has today confirmed that no decision has been taken as yet on the appointment of an Australian High Commissioner following the expulsion of Sarah Roberts last month.

However, an Acting High Commissioner has been chosen.

A spokesperson of the High Commission confirmed to Fijivillage that in accordance with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, the Fiji government has been advised that Judith Robinson is in charge of the Australian High Commission as Acting High Commissioner.

Meanwhile, Fiji's Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama has told The Australian that he is seriously considering on whether Fiji will allow another Australian High Commissioner to be appointed.

He said he will make the decision after speaking to his ministers and the military council.
