No decision has been reached on the proposals for an increase in bus and taxi fares.

Transport Minister Timoci Natuva said Cabinet deliberated on the issue today however a decision is expected in a few days time.

The Bus and Taxi Industry are seeking fare increases following the hike in fuel prices.

Meanwhile, the Prices and Incomes Board (PIB) is expected to conduct a review of the fuel prices in the next few days.

It is understood that fuel prices will increase as prices in the world market continues to increase.

Acting secretary Lucy Naimawi confirmed a monthly review is due and PIB will make an announcement soon.

She had earlier said that full effect of devaluation of Fiji dollar will be felt as fuel will cost 20% more.
