Following the Pacific Islands Leaders Forum meeting in Tonga last week where Fiji's Interim Prime Minister made a firm commitment that elections will be held in March 2009, Commodore Frank Bainimarama says Australia and NZ did not contribute positively during the forum.

Bainimarama says Australia and NZ did not want him to attend the forum and they were helpless after the host government sent the invitation to him.

He also says that all the island country leaders who attended the forum understood the situation in Fiji, and Australia and NZ could not do much but agree with the outcomes.
