The military council will not comment on the questions raised on why the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption is not taking steps to investigate tax evasion allegations against a senior interim minister.
Military Council member, Colonel Mohamed Aziz said the council is not in the position to deal with the matter and only Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office Pramesh Chand can speak on the matter.
Colonel Aziz also refused to comment on whether the military council is concerned about the seriousness of the allegations against the interim cabinet minister.
Meanwhile, ousted Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase said the FICAC Deputy Commissioner's excuse that FICAC does not have any tax expertise to investigate the allegations are just unwarranted.
