No changes should be made to the Pensions under the Fiji National Provident Fund Act.
These are the sentiment of Fiji Council of Social Services who has made submissions on the review of the Act.
Executive Director, Hassan Khan said senior citizens dependent on the family assistance allowance or their own pensions are facing difficulties and it is about time that their plight is seriously looked into.
They have submitted that the FNPF pensions should be adjusted to reflect the cost of living.
The FNPF earlier confirmed that the consultation process is still underway and anyone can make submissions on what they believe would strengthen the FNPF and ensure its viability in the future.
The submissions close on February 16th and a preliminary report is expected to be submitted later this month.
