The Soqosoqo Duavata ni Lewenivanua have not changed their tune, believing that any appointment regarding the position of the Vice President or the President of the country should be carried out within the consitituion of Fiji.
SDL National Director Peceli Kinivuwai said that under the constitution any race in the country can take up the position of the President or the Vice President but the appointment should come from the Bose Levu Vakaturaga and their decision should be respected.
Kinivuwai's comment comes after CCF Director Rev Akuila Yabaki called on the authorities to allow a person from any race to take up the position of President and VP.
Yabaki said that in the most difficult situation faced in Fiji and given the difficulty in finding an appropriate person for the position, the invitations to the top positions should stretch out to other races.
