No arrests have been made so far in relation to the drug raid conducted in Navosa in a week where officers from the drug unit uprooted more than 2,600 Marijuana plants with a street value of $26 million.
Officer-In-Charge Drugs Inspector Rajeshni Mala said these farms are located in the interior of Navosa where it is difficult to locate the farm owners.
Officers from the Drug Unit had to walk for hours to reach the farms and acording to Inspector Mala, the biggest challenge for them is lack of manpower and resources.
She reveals that four major drug raids were conducted this year which saw 66,137 marijuana plants being uprooted around the country with the street value reaching a billion dollars.
She said most of the drug raids were conducted in the Navosa area.
