There is still no confirmation whether Interim Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama will meet with ousted Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase.

Qarase has confirmed that he has written a letter to Bainimarama. He has refused to make any further comments as he wants their communication to be private.

However, SDL Party Director Peceli Kinivuwai has confirmed to Village News that Qarase has written to Bainimarama, saying that he is ready to meet with him to discuss about the country's situation and assist in taking Fiji to democratic elections in March 2009.

When Village News contacted the Prime Minister's Office, Parmesh Chand said that he was not aware of any letter being sent in by Qarase. However, he said that the letter would go straight to Commodore Bainimarama if it was addressed to him.

Commodore Bainimarama is currently in a cabinet meeting and could not be reached for comments.
