The Interim Government has received no word as yet from the Pacific Island Forum Chair and Niue Premier on the Interim Prime Minister's request to defer the meeting scheduled for next week in Port Moresby.

This has been confirmed by Information Ministry, Deputy Secretary Major Neumi Leweni who said they have not received anything yet from Talagi.

The Interim Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama had yesterday revealed that he will not be attending the Forum Special Meeting next week asking the leaders to think about Fiji's situation in light of the flood and his inability to attend as it is his priority to ensure that the affected people are properly looked after.

Bainimarama said he has written to the Forum Chair requesting a deferment, as he would have liked to have attended the meeting personally.

He is currently on a tour of the flood affected areas in the Northern Division.
