There will be no VAT charged on bus fares which has come into effect from the 1st of January this year.
This was confirmed by Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama after signing the agreement between the government and the Bus Operators Association in a press conference this afternoon.
He said the members of the public will be paying the same bus fare they are paying now without any increase.
Meanwhile, Commodore Bainimarama added special concession will be given to the disabled and elderly.
