There is no truth in the allegations that $20 million, through the Agriculture Scam, was used to fund SDL's campaign.
Those were the words of ousted Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase in response to claims by Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama in a press statement last week, that those politicians who came into power corruptly spent about $20 million of public funds to fund their election campaign in 2001.
Qarase reiterates it is still unfortunate that the interim government is still using these allegations against the SDL.
