The Lautoka High Court today could not set a trial date for the murder case against a police officer and eight soldiers who are charged with the alleged murder of 19-year-old Sakiusa Rabaka in February last year.

High Court officials confirm DPP lawyer Vilisoni Kurisiqila represented the state and all the accused were represented by Kevueli Tunidau on behalf of Haroon Ali Shah. Justice Kishore Govind has adjourned the case to 18th July for mention.

Patrick Nayacalagilagi, Taione Lua, Ulaiasi Radike, Epeli Nadura, Ratunaisa Toutou, Joeli Lesavua, Jona Nareki, Ilaisa Kurimavua and Napolioni Naulia earlier pleaded not guilty to the charge. It is alleged that the nine assaulted Rabaka who died due to injuries sustained.
