As CID officers take the statements of Ousted SDL parliamentarians, Samisoni Tikoinasau and Mere Samisoni in relation to their treason complaint filed against the Interim Prime Minister, members of the military council and the interim government this hour, it has been stressed that no treason investigation will be conducted.

Director CID Tevita Lesu said crime officers will just take all the statements from the ousted SDL parliamentarians.

Lesu said police will follow normal police procedures regarding receiving complaints but all the statements taken will be forwarded to the Police Commissioner, Commodore Esala Teleni.

SSP Lesu said Commodore Teleni will make the decision whether to go ahead with the investigations.

However Commodore Teleni told Fijivillage News this morning that he makes the decision on investigations and he has already decided that there will be no treason investigation.

While the complainants have called on Teleni to step aside,
Commodore Teleni said people can say whatever they like but the final decision is made by him. When we asked him why the complainants statements were being taken by his officers at Raiwaqa Police Station after he said that there will be no investigation, Commodore Teleni said we do not need to know why but they are taking statements for some clarifications.
