The Fiji National Provident Fund has started receiving applications from this week for education assistance, however no special consideration will be given to those who have been affected by Tropical cyclone Mick and the floods in December last year.

FNPF Manager Corporate Affairs Wainikiti Bogidrau confirms that the FNPF members wishing to utilize their funds for their children's education will have to meet the relevant criteria set out before any assistance is given.

Bogidrau said the FNPF has not been accepting applications for assistance from families affected by the recent floods and as such, those who may have been affected will also have to meet the standard requirements before any funds are released for education assistance.

She stresses that thorough assessments will be made before the FNPF allows the use of members funds for education purposes.

The FNPF is expected to receive hundreds of applications for education assistance over the next two weeks, as parents prepare for the new school year which starts on January 26th.
