The Citizen's Constitutional Forum said it does not understand why the Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama said that he is likely to abrogate the Constitutions to ensure that SDL does not contest the next general elections.
CCF Executive Director Rev Akuila Yabaki said he believes that the comments by Bainimarama came after ousted Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase had earlier said that he will bring back controversial legislations if the SDL comes back into power.
Yabaki said the CCF also did not agree with the controversial legislations but that it was not fair to stop the SDL from contesting the elections.
Commodore Bainimarama had told FijiVillage earlier that the military and interim administration will now ensure that the SDL does not contest the next election as it continues to oppose the People's Charter process.
