The size of the military is now fine and will not be reduced.
The head of the Technical Support Secretariat for the National Council for Building a Better Fiji (NCBBF), John Samy said although the issue was discussed by the NCBBF, it was decided that the size of the military is satisfactory as it would contribute positively towards Fiji's development.
Samy also said that there was no guarantee of not having another coup through the People's Charter but emphasized that the people of the country should ensure that the rule of law is always upheld and they are not misled by ethno-nationalists.
Draft Charter Will Not Replace Constitution
Although some major changes to the constitution are recommended, the National Council For Building A Better Fiji's (NCBBF) Head of the Technical Support Secretariat John Samy stressed that the draft People's Charter will not replace the constitution.
While making the document public, Samy said people should not be confused that the Charter will replace the constitution.
He also hopes that the political forum would be a way forward to legally change the electoral system.
Samy said all the political parties are expected to attend this forum and it will be up to the leaders to put Fiji first.
And when asked if the draft People's Charter will be rejected by the people, Samy had this message for the people of Fiji.
