As the Public Employees Union, Viti Taukei Workers and the Fiji Nursing Association remain adamant that they will continue with their strike action, the Interim Prime Minister has reiterated that there are no plans to refer the current strikes to arbitration.
Commodore Frank Bainimarama said the Interim Labour Minister has been advised about the matter and they are now working according to their contingency plans.
Meanwhile, the Public Service and Public Enterprise Ministry's call for expressions of interest for the provision of public services ends today.
The likely services to be contracted out are repair and maintenance works for water supply and sewerage services, repair and maintenance works for roads, bridges, jetties, government buildings and vehicles, cleaning, laundry and catering services for government institutions, cleaning services of the Government Buildings and offices and repair and maintenance of government quarters and government owned office buildings.
