The Head of the Development Committee of the European Union has revealed that the meeting with Supervisor of Elections did not take place because there were pre-conditions set.
Gabriele Zimmer, through interpreter Daniel Pashley said the night before the planned meet with the Elections Office they received a letter stating conditions for the meeting.
Zimmer said this was really unfortunate because they wanted to have first hand information on how election preparations were going.
However, the Supervisor of Elections Felecity Heffernan had defended her office saying that identical conditions were put in place for her meetings with the United Nations and the Commonwealth with those meetings held and concluded successfully.
Heffernan added that the European Parliament delegation should have advised them prior to the meeting instead of informing them afterwards.
