The Interim Attorney General said bus fares will not be increased.
This comes after the Interim Government and the Bus Operators Association reached an agreement yesterday regarding Bus operators' concerns on rising fuel costs.
Interim Attorney General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said in a press conference that the Interim Government will now provide a direct subsidy of 21.9 percent to Bus Operators that will be based on monthly revenue reported by each Bus Operator.
According to Sayed-Khaiyum, the Land Transport Authority and Ministry of Transport will start a review of the bus industry in total.
