The Fiji Indigenous Business Council said commercial banks have not been assisting small businesses over the last two years.
Council Chairman Ulaiasi Taoi said members are worried that their businesses may close if there is no assistance from financial institutions.
Meanwhile, Fijian Holdings Limited's board Chairman Isoa Kaloumaira presented a cheque of $20,000 to the council for the Indigenous Business Council symposium that will be held on the 5th and the 6th of next month in Nadi.
