The Nasinu Town Council has written to the Public Works Department (PWD) asking for more funds to repair and maintain the roads in its seven wards.

Deputy Mayor Dhiren Prasad said the Council cannot do much work on the roads which are in a deplorable state as it does not have enough funds.

He said each road has a lifespan of eight years and many roads in Nasinu are very old.

He said they have met with PWD about the matter and are expecting a reply soon.
