Overseas based players in New Zealand, Australia and Japan along with a majority of local based players will be selected to be part of the Flying Fijians team on a two-match tour to Australia in January.

High Performance Unit Manager Talemo Waqa said they have decided not to include Europe based players due to the time constraints of putting a team together and also accessibility of players.

Fitness tests for local based players for the Warriors tour will be held on the 5th January in Suva and 6th January in Nadi for Eastern and Western based players respectively, while the fitness test for overseas based players will be held on 11th January in Suva.

They will play against the Melbourne Rebels on the 29th January in Ballarat and a week later on the 4th February against the Waratahs at Sydney Football Stadium.

Following the Warriors tour to Australia the trial for the Pacific Rugby Cup will be held on February 9th which will be the final trial for any player wanting to contest a place for the Flying Fijians in the Pacific Nations Cup competition.
