The Australian Government has not made a decision regarding the request from Australian Farming Organisations to allow Pacific Islanders to work on their farms, for short term seasonal agricultural work.

Speaking at the Fiji Institute of Accountants Congress at the Fijian Shari La Resort, Australia High Commission to Fiji James Batley said both media outlets in Fiji and Australia have been ill informed about the issue, since the government has not made a decision as yet, on the matter.

He said the seasonal work scheme will be discussed at the Forum meeting in Niue.
