Organisers of the Coca Cola Games are expected to make a decision by the end of this week whether the Fiji Finals will be held in Lautoka next month or the dates will be shifted to May.

Chief Organiser, Vuli Waqa said they will be holding negotiations with the Ministry of Education soon and a decision is expected by Friday.

It is now confirmed that the Coca Cola games will not be held at the end of next month at the new ANZ stadium.

Waqa said the Fiji Sports Council has recommended that the Fiji Finals be shifted to mid May.

However, Waqa said they have another option of taking the games to Lautoka and still have it at the end of next month.

According to Waqa they need to consult the Ministry of Education first before any decision is taken.

He added they will prefer to have the games in Suva.

Earlier today we received confirmation from the Fiji Sports Council that work in some parts of the stadium has been affected by the recent weather conditions.

Chairman, Peter Mazey said work at the embankment has been affected and they have been unable to lay the new tracks because of bad weather.

He added if the delays continue then the new stadium may not open on time.
