The Quarantine Director said they have found that there are no milk or milk powdered products brought in from China which may contain suspected chemical melamine.
On overseas media reports that preliminary tests have found the chemical melamine in China made chocolates, Hiangi Foraete said the Quarantine Department is not aware whether any checks are being conducted on this.
Foraete adds it will be very difficult to check each and every container entering the country.
Meanwhile, Tapoos Fiji Director, Mahendra Tapoo said they are sole importers and distributors of Cadbury Chocolate in Fiji.
However they import Chocolates from Australia and New Zealand which comes in air-condition containers. He has reassured consumers that their products are safe.
At least 50,000 Chinese babies are sick and four killed by milk tainted with the industrial chemical.
