Fiji's Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama said the interim government does not have any business to tell Australia and NZ when the next elections will be held and what type of government Fiji has.
Bainimarama stresses that the courts have already ruled that the interim government has been legally appointed by the President, and the Pacific Island leaders was never meant to alienate a country from the group.
He said the Forum has gone beyond its mandate by issuing an ultimatum to Fiji to have election this year.
Bainimarama has made it clear that elections will only be held in the country after the necessary electoral reforms are carried out by the interim government, when asked about the Forum's ultimatum to have elections by December 2009.
He said it was clear that the leaders of countries like Kiribati and Tuvalu did not want punitive action to be taken against Fiji but he believes Australia and NZ pushed the Pacific leaders in that direction.
Bainimarama said the forum was not formed to create enemies but to work with understanding without applying any undue pressure.
