If funds are to be found for the restoration of the 5% pay cut, it would be funded by productivity within the Public Service and not by reallocating funds.
This is the view of Interim Finance Minister Mahendra Chaudhry who maintains that the interim administration will not borrow for pay increases.
FNA General Secretary Kuini Lutua said it is the prerogative of the Interim Prime Minister to instruct the Minister responsible in relation to financial issues, especially regarding the 5% pay cut.
