We now cross over to our reporter Ronal Deo in Niue who said officials there are shocked by the decision by the interim government not to attend the Pacific Islands Leaders Forum.

"Niue is now shocked and have spoken to Niue’s Premier Hon Toke Talagi just a while ago and he said he has not been informed about this decision and he says that this will be a pity to the Pacific Islands Forum meet but he will be trying to officially contact the interim Prime Minister to find out the reasons himself. Also the acting Secretary General of Pacific Islands Forum meeting Feleti Teo also talked about the decision. He said that he was informed about it just a while ago when the announcement was made. He had also confirmed to Legend FM News that Fiji’s response to this meeting will be high on the agenda come Wednesday when the forum meeting will kick-off in Niue”.
