The festive season has turned into a nightmare of a family in Daku Tailevu after their nine year old son drowned while swimming with friends yesterday.

Assistant Police Spokesperson Corporal Suliano Tevita confirms that the 9 year old boy had gone swimming along with his friends yesterday afternoon however he was later found missing.

Police and relatives recovered the boys body this morning.

Police are urging parents to take care and supervise their children.

Meanwhile, Police are pleading for information in relation to two motor vehicles that were stolen from Suva and Lautoka, a white Nissan Bluebird registration E.6503 which was stolen from Suva City Library carpark and a Blue Toyota registration AN-343 that was stolen from Tukani Street, Lautoka.

Police believe that these vehicles could be used in robberies.
