The Fiji Rugby Union has secured the services of nine overseas based players to defend the Melrose Cup next year in March in Dubai.
Semisi Naevo, William Ryder, Isireli Naqelevuki, Apolosi Satala, Vilimoni Delasau, Timoci Nagusa, Filimoni Bolavucu, Napolioni Nalaga and Jone Daunivucu are highly likely to be in the 12-man team that will be announced on 23rd February.
FRU is in talks with the players clubs to get their releases. These players will only be released one week before the tournament as per IRB rules.
Meanwhile FRU has also named Reverand Joji Rinakama as a Technical Adviser for the Digicel Fiji 7s team to the World Cup 7s tournament next year and he will assist coach Waisale Serevi and will also travel with the team.
