Concerns have been raised by police that some nightclubs are still operating after the official closing hours.
According to the Liquor Licensing Board, the opening and closing hours of nightclubs during weekdays is from 5pm to 1am while the opening and closing hours for Saturday and public holidays is from 5pm to 12am.
The nightclubs should not be operating on Sundays, Good Friday and on Christmas Day.
Fijivillage has received information that some nightclubs in Suva were open until 3am.
Police Deputy Director Operations SP Erami Raibe said they are looking into the matter and are trying to arrange a meeting with all the municipal councils since the license to operate is given by the municipal councils.
