The news keeps getting better for the Wellington Phoenix.

Sitting pretty on the A‑League ladder after Wednesday's 3‑1 win in Adelaide, the Phoenix are now hopeful that goal scorer Roy Krishna may make a surprise return for tomorrow's home game against Brisbane Roar.

Krishna, who has scored five goals in his past six matches, tore his hamstring after scoring the winner in Sunday's 1‑0 defeat of the Western Sydney Wanderers.

He was initially deemed a long‑shot to return against the struggling Roar but captain Andrew Durante said the outlook for the Fiji international had brightened.

With the focus in Australia going on the Asian Cup, the Phoenix's next game is not until February 2 ‑ a return trip to Brisbane to play the Roar.
