The Newcastle Knights have shown interest in securing a contract with new Vodafone Fiji 7s team recruit, Jarryd Hayne.
Newcastle Knights CEO, Matt Gidley confirmed they would be interested in making a play for the code‑switching star and that they would be having a meeting with his management and have a discussion.
However, the Roosters have long been regarded as the frontrunners if and when the 28‑year‑old decides to make an NRL comeback.
Hayne had said that he would only want to play for the Paramatta Eels if he was to make an NRL comeback.
The Rabbitohs will face the Dragons at 9.50pm Thursday.
