Retailers have discovered a new trend in shoplifting.
Fiji Retailers Association has confirmed that reports of shoplifting from retail outlets have increased dramatically and they are now taking necessary steps to address the problem.
President Himmat Lodhia said shoplifters are now more organized and they come in groups posing as genuine customers.
He said while some will keep the shop assistants busy, the others will steal expensive items.
Lodhia said retailers have no other choice but to find ways to recover cost.
