With the introduction of new technology which has kept many children occupied over the holidays, some students we spoke to said most are distractions to their studies.
Form 6 St Joseph Secondary student Sylvia Rogolevu said the onus will be on students to use their time wisely when school starts as there are a lot of new gadgets which children are using these days to keep them entertained.
Rogolevu who has set her sights on being an engineer said she hopes students will not be easily distracted.
Paula Tuvou who has also set his sights on being an engineer said as he begins Form 3 in a new school, he knows it will be difficult to avoid such distractions, however he will try his best especially as he has already set his goals.
Term 1 starts on the 26th of this month.
