Expect new and stricter regulations for our borders.

Interim Defense and National Security minister Ratu Epeli Ganilau said as part of their three day workshop on Police Border Control, they will be looking at the reported cases of money laundering, drug smuggling and illegal immigrants.

He further added if the need arises they will implement the laws as the Interim Parliament early last year had given the Police the go-ahead as Fiji sucks when it comes to controlling the borders.

According to Ganilau, if we are not careful Fiji could be used as a passage for drug and human traffickers or even become the hub for Terrorism cells.

The workshop, a first of its kind for the Police Force sees 21 heads of Police Stations around the country from as far as Rotuma taking part in a three-day meet where officials from the Ministry of Defense and Immigration will address them.
