A new rule was implemented in the Flying Fijians/Junior All Blacks match, as a 1 minute interval was observed after every 20-minutes of the game.
Speaking to Fijivillage sports, Flying Fijians Team Manager - Semi Rogoyawa said that the interval was carried out after the referee proposed it.
Rogoyawa confirmed that the agreement came after a meeting between the two teams, as the referee could not cope with the conditions in Fiji.
However as this is the first time an interval of this nature has been adopted during a match, efforts to get an official confirmation from IRB officials whether they had sanctioned the break, proved futile.
Meanwhile, the Flying Fijians will break camp today and will return to camp tomorrow to prepare for the next Pacific Nations Cup match against Samoa on Saturday next week at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
The next round of matches takes place on Tuesday 23 June at Churchill Park, Samoa meet Tonga before Japan face the Junior All Blacks.
