All legal practitioners in the country will have to re-apply for their practicing certificates with the Chief Registrar of the High court as their licenses will expire on the 30th of next month.

At a press conference this afternoon Attorney General, Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum revealed that as per the decree issued by the President Ratu Josefa Iloilo last week, the Fiji Law Society will no longer be responsible in issuing practicing certificates to lawyers as the responsibility will now be with the Chief Registrar of the High Court.

He also confirmed that the Practicing certificates which are issued every February for a one year term will now be changed.
