Chairman of the Public Service Commission Josefa Serulagilagi said there has been laxity in some civil servants because most of them do not go through an induction program when they get employed by PSC.

Serulagilagi said the induction system was carried out pre 1987 coup and all civil servants had to know all the systems of government, pass general orders and financial regulations.

He said some graduates appointed by PSC are often found guilty by the PSC disciplinary tribunal for corruption later in their service.
