Digicel Fiji 7s captain, Setefano Cakau said new players in the team have been exposed in tournaments with great atmosphere.

Cakau said this is the reason they played well from their first pool match of the Scotland 7s against Spain where they won 45-nil and then later beat Argentina 28-10 and Australia 19-17.

Cakau said they have worked a lot after Tokyo 7s and there are a lot of positives.

Meanwhile, Fiji 7s coach, Alifereti Dere kept Fiji’s opponents guessing yesterday in the pool matches of the Scotland 7’s as to which players will make up the starting lineup.

In the matches against Spain, Argentina and Australia, Dere rotated his players to various positions.

In the last pool match, Dere kept his top players on the bench like Samisoni Viriviri, Setefano Cakau and Benito Eramasi.

He used them as impact players in the second half where Viriviri scored the last minute try to give Fiji the win over Australia.

In the cup quarterfinal match against England at 11.20 tonight Dere is expected to use Nemani Nagusa, Setefano Cakau and Jasa Veremalua in the forwards while Sakiusa Gavidi, Emosi Mulevoro, Samisoni Viriviri and Benito Eramasi are tipped to be in the backs.

Meanwhile, in the other Cup quarter finals, South Africa will play USA at 10.58pm, Wales takes on Canada at 11.42pm while New Zealand will take on Argentina at 12.04am tomorrow.

The Cup semis kick off at 2.58am tomorrow and the final will get underway at 5.45am tomorrow.
