A High Court judge, Justice John Edward Byrne was sworn in by President Ratu Josefa Iloilo at Government House this morning.

The swearing in ceremony was a follow up from last Friday's swearing in ceremony in which Justice Anthony Gates was sworn in as Chief Justice, while Davendra Pathick, Daniel Gounder and Sosefo Inoke were sworn in as judges and Mary Muir as Resident Magistrate.

The Minister for Justice, Attorney General together with the Acting Chief Registrar Ana Rokomokoti were present at the ceremony today.

While accepting his post, Byrne said he is going to work with truth and dignity and uphold the law of the Republic of the Fiji Islands.
