The Pacific Games organising committee is setting new food safety standards for 5,000 athletes and officials during the two weeks event in Samoa.

The new quality control standard is set for everything from milk to seafood to make sure nutritionists’ game food is provided.

The new rules mean that all ingredients have to be listed and producers must meet packaging and storage standards.

Australian based consultant, David Payne, will oversee the delivery of food services, even the chefs are hired from New Zealand and Australia.

The Pacific Games officially gets underway on 25th August.
