The Digicel Fiji Sevens team coaching staff in Dubai has revealed that the run on team against Portugal will have new faces this evening.
Speaking to Fijivillage from Dubai this morning, Fiji Team manager Sale Sorovaki said coach Iliesa Tanivula may use Jerry Burotu, Sitiveni Waqa and Watisoni Votu in the forwards while Captain Emosi Vucago, Mitieli Nacagilevu, Josefa Bole and Nasoni Roko will run out in the backs.
Sorovaki said the boys know what is at stake as Portugal will not be an easy team to beat.
He added Fiji cannot even afford a draw against Portugal as France and England will surely be tougher encounters.
New Zealand coach Gordon Tietjens will also try to win the IRB Sevens Series title which he last held two years ago.
Tietjens knows that all teams coming to Dubai will be out to end their dominance and it is important for his players to start well in this tournament.
The 2010 Dubai Sevens kicks off this evening at 6.20pm with Fiji playing Portugal in the first match.
