Forty Ballantine Memorial School students yesterday became the occupants of their newly opened Miss Mills Dormitory which was built through a grant of $363,041 by the European Union.

The dormitory is furnished with 20 double bunks, drawers, washrooms, and a drying shed.

The new dormitory will replace the Koroi Hostel that was destroyed in a fire in 2006.

Acting Permanent Secretary for Education, Rokobua Naiyaga during the opening ceremony of the dormitory reminded students to cherish the dreams of Mary Ballantine, the school's founder, whose selfless service and wisdom was behind the establishment of the institution.

Naiyaga said this new dormitory will boost the morale of students in their pursuit for academic excellence and a career after school.
