The Ministry of Social Welfare, Women and Poverty Alleviation is currently working on developing a new database on all its family assistance recipients.

Acting Permanent Secretary, Govind Sami said the new database will be linked to the E-Gov which will see faster and efficient services.

He also said the current e-welfare database will be replaced by the new database as the current one is now outdated.

Sami said the recipients will have to provide a certified true copy of their original birth certificates as current record shows that some recipients birth certificate are missing, only have declaration or extracts only.
