Definite timeframes have today been presented by the Prime Minister where he has announced that Fiji will have a new constitution by 2013 and we will go to the polls by September 2014.

Commodore Frank Bainimarama has revealed the government's roadmap to democracy where he has announced that work on Fiji's new constitution will begin in the year 2012.

While delivering his national address at the Tradewinds Convention Centre, Commodore Bainimarama said this is part of the reforms which will be implemented.

He said this will see major changes to the electoral system by 2013 with the race based system to be eliminated.
