A new comer will be taking part in the Ba Zone Athletics meet with organisers predicting tough competition for the defending champions.
One of the Organisers, Master Shek Ajit said this year, newcomers Thomas Baker College are fielding a virtually unknown team and this has seen defending champions Xavier College boost their team.
Meanwhile, so far three records have fallen at the Suva Zone 1 athletics meet.
The records were broken in the 3,000m open boys and girls divisions as well as in the sub-junior boys 1,500m.

In the Boys Division, Wainimakutu Secondary is currently leading with 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 2 bronze, second are Suva Muslim College, John Wesley and Dudley High School with 1 gold medal each.
In the Girls Division, Wainimakutu Secondary is leading with 2 Gold and 2 Silver while second is Namosi High with 2 bronze.
Meanwhile, the defending champions in both the girls and boys divisions - Ballentine Memorial and Nasinu Secondary are yet to win medals.
