Digicel Fiji Sevens Team coach Iliesa Tanivula is using the Sri Lanka Sevens this weekend as a last chance to try out some of his new players ahead of the opening IRB Sevens Series in Dubai next week.
With a total of 6 new faces in his 12-member team, Tanivula will work on various combinations during the Sri Lanka Sevens where he is expecting to meet with the big guns like Samoa, South Africa and Australia.
Tanivula said the Sri Lanka tournament will give him an assessment of how to approach the Dubai Sevens and try to end the 8 year losing streak in the City of Gold.
The Sri Lanka Sevens will kick off on Saturday before the Fiji Sevens team heads to Dubai next week.
