The Fiji National Rugby League is overwhelmed by the growing interest from various new clubs wanting to join the local competition.

FNRL General Manager Tomy Finau said they have received interest from as far as Naitasiri, Rewa, Tailevu and Namosi.

Finau added they are excited about setting up rugby league in Vanua Levu and they have established a local competition in Dreketi where they have registered a total of 10 clubs.

Finau confirms that six teams from Navosa have registered and they will fight for a spot in the Vodafone Cup this year.

Meanwhile, pre season matches for local competition will start later this month.
