A new champion will be crowned this season in the National Soccer League competition.

Ba who is the reigning champion will not be able to defend their title although they have two games left to play.

The Men In Black after playing 16 games have 32 points while first placed Lautoka after playing 14 games have 40 points.

Even if Ba wins their remaining two games, still they will not be able to catch Lautoka on points.

This means that either Lautoka or Navua, who remain unbeaten in the competition so far, will become the new league champions this season.

Meanwhile Nasinu, Rewa, Tavua, Nadi and Labasa are fighting to avoid playing in the Promotion Relegation series at the end of the year.

The league results over the weekend saw Labasa beat Ba 1-0, Tavua defeated Nadroga 3-0, Navua thrashed Nasinu 5-0, Lautoka won 1-0 over Rewa and Nadi beat Labasa 3-0.
